William Shakespeare uses similes in his play, Macbeth to interest people (a simile is a comparison of thing with another.)this simile, which was quoted by sergeant, is used to compare two sides of the battle to two sleepy swimmers who clutch each other and drown because of it, “as two spent swimmers , that do cling.”
Through out the play, Macbeth’s world is affected by what he does, this commonly know as pathetic fallacy, the main changes in Macbeth is the weather, this is demonstrated in act 1, scene 1 when the witches enter it is queued ” Thunder and lightning. Enter three Witches.” This is used to create a mood in the air (atmosphere) that tells us about the characters and how they act.
Lady Macbeth tends to use Macbeth’s emotion against him by calling him a coward and accusing Macbeth of not loving her lady Macbeth’s work on Macbeth, and she slow turns his thoughts of kindness into thoughts of murder, act 1, scene 7 Macbeth questions lady Macbeth and replies “We fail! But screw your courage to the sticking place and well not fail. “After Lady Macbeth says this Macbeth is convinced and they proceed to the murder of King Duncan. This suggests that by taunting and playing with Macbeth he starts to lesson to Lady Macbeth , in away she trains him like a dog.
In Macbeth, when Lady Macbeth and Macbeth make decisions for example when King Duncan it can affect the world, this maybe through weather, and when evil deeds are being done or being thought through, this maybe demonstrated by thunder and lightning storms. Just before King Duncan is murdered, Pathetic fallacy is used when Fleance says “The moon is down I have not heard the clock.” This sets the atmosphere in Macbeth’s castle to murder Duncan. This is relating to Macbeth’s inner thought’s and his lack of control of his dreams in his subconscious when he sleeps. “Fair is foul and foul is fair. Hover through the fog and the filthy air…” everything is not as it should be and that doing things you believe are correct may not be and things you believe are bad maybe correct so by something bad may lead to good things and doing something bad may lead to bad things, this relates to Macbeth’s ambition to be king when he killed the king, he became king, but as a result he felt a great guilt dwell with in him, because he respected the king and cared for the king, the reason he is doing this is Lady Macbeth’s continuous judgement of whether Macbeth is a man or not.
William Shakespeare uses Dramatic Irony in Macbeth, this shows that only the audience and a small amount of characters in the play know something the other characters don’t know, a good example of this was when the witches tell Macbeth he was going to be king, only the witches knew this and later on during the play Macbeth becomes king and this shows by when the witches said “All hail, Macbeth! that shalt be king hereafter.” This prediction even true at the time did not turn out the way Macbeth had expected, When Macbeth told Lady Macbeth about how to the witches told him he would be king, this started lady Macbeth to encourage Macbeth to go further and become king, she was pressuring Macbeth into killing the king even though he was already the thane of Cawdor but lady Macbeth pushed him to be king.
Shakespearian plays tend to keep the audience interested by showing the characters ambition in his plays the characters ambition is mainly to murder someone or to become rich (which is one of the main ambitions in Macbeth) not only in Macbeth but in Shakespeare’s other plays like Hamlet where Hamlet’s ambition is to kill his uncle is shown through metaphors. In Macbeth the continuously shows Macbeth’s ambition to be king(or should I say lady Macbeth’s ambition to king) and how he is unworthy of the throne or the title of the king , most characters in Macbeth believe Macbeth is behind all of the super natural happenings and the murder of their previous king, Duncan. Angus shows some of his anger towards Macbeth and how he feels about Macbeth being king, through this quote ( a metaphor)”Now does his title hang loose about him, like a giant’s robe upon a dwarfish.
supernatural devices are used in Macbeth, one of the most common uses of this in Macbeth are the witches, we meet the witches in the act and scene in Macbeth this shows that they are important characters in the play, they are creating mischief and stirring things up you may refer to them as those people who try to stir things up and make others turn on each other like kids in a playground fight, for example when they meet Macbeth and tell him he is king to be king he goes and kills Duncan or when the apparitions appear (another supernatural thing in Macbeth sort of like a ghost if you will) the first apparitions warning is “Beware Macbeth”, the second apparitions warning is “Be bloody, bold, and resolute. Laugh to scorn The power of man, for none of woman born Shall harm Macbeth.” and third apparitions warning is “Be lion-mettled, proud, and take no care Who chafes, who frets, or where conspirers are.Macbeth shall never vanquished be until Great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane Hill Shall come against him.” after Macbeth here’s this he is not worried he then heads to kill Macduff and his family, the reason supernatural is good to see and keeps the audience interested because a lot of people like that kind stuff and Shakespearian tragedy was another way of going to see a horror movie in William Shakespeare’s time.

This is a very thorough and insightful essay. You’ve gone to some trouble to diversify your paragraph topic sentences to make the reading interesting. You’ve provided some very good detail to support your ideas as well. Your ideas about the play are individual to your own reading of it and you’re developing confidence and authority in the language you use to express yourself in analytical essays.

Advice for further development:
1) Improve the structure and development of your essay by developing the introduction. The idea is that the whole essay builds an argument with diverse evidence and a range of points. The best way to make it as convincing as possible is to indicate from the beginning what the essay is going to demonstrate (prove).
2) Ensure you include an example (a quotation) in every paragraph – and then amplify this by explaining the effect of the device in this PARTICULAR example.
3) Be very vigilant for small errors, (Like a capital S for ‘supernatural’ in the final paragraph
